About the Artist

Lizzie’s Muse

My name is Elizabeth Parsi and you could say I have had a passion for art throughout my life.

As a young girl, I remember spending time in my grandfather’s studio, admiring his work and trying hard to imitate him at a very modest level.  Having been born to a family with generations rich in artistic talent has given me a great love and desire for creating, even after the relative influences have long since disappeared.

During my life, I have incorporated my drawing skills in many ways.  I have dabbled in dress and embroidery designing and successfully owned my own business for several years.  I taught myself woodworking, where I have recently put much of my attention and imagination to work in a house that my husband and I had built in the Central Coast area of California.  Smaller projects like exotic wood boxes and frames have kept me busy and have fine tuned my carpentry skills even more.  Now, in 2009, I have added chain maille jewelry making to my ongoing list of creative endeavors.

Which brings me to the last four years, of which I have taken on painting. I started out painting in acrylics and then went on to oils.  My first oil painting was started with the help of my friend Sally Seago, who owns an art gallery in Cambria, California.  Later, with the excellent tutelage of my teacher, Olga Shiller, from St. Petersburg. Russia, I came to achieve a great deal of confidence in my skills as an artist.

I feel my portfolio has become quite diverse, in a way that I try to reach a wide variety of potential clientele.  In the photos of this website, please try to notice the traditional style of my still life paintings and detailed touches in my portraits, then compare them to the heavy, new-aged textures of my landscapes and seascapes.

Take a few moments to visit my gallery to see original compositions, commissions and my own renditions of favorite photos.  Then, I encourage you to comment on what you see, good or bad!  I am very eager to answer any inquiries you may have and am most appreciative of ideas to make my website better, if I can!

Someone once said, “There is no sadder thing in life than talent wasted.”  I am a firm believer in taking the opportunity to try anything of my interest and productively making the most out of every minute of each day.

In the future, please look forward to viewing more pages, where I plan to give you a visual and historical treat of accomplishments of my family and friends.
